OUR STORY

RBGTees was born in 2014, in the wake of Michael Brown’s killing and the protests that followed. At the time, slogans like “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot,” “I Can’t Breathe,” and “Black Lives Matter” spread across the country as people demanded change.
I respected the purpose behind those messages but I also struggled with how powerless they sometimes felt. Too often, our demand depended on the people causing harm choosing if and when to recognize our humanity.
I believe the most powerful and sustaining impact starts when we see each other, support each other, and build something that can’t be taken away because it was not given to us.
RBGTees started in the spirit of revolution—by any means. Over time, that grew into something deeper: a revolution of Black love—protected by any means.
We began with a Pan-African foundation, and we’ve evolved into a brand that honors the ancestors who laid the groundwork for everything we’re building today—while still giving respect where respect is due, no matter someone’s background.
Every design in our collection pays homage to our history & culture while attempting to educate & inspire. We also keep a focus on quality and comfort because what good is a dope shirt if it's too uncomfortable to wear?
If you've been rocking with us, Welcome Back. If you're new to the campaign, Welcome!
