O.W. Gurley was a pioneering Black entrepreneur and landowner who helped establish Tulsa’s Greenwood District by purchasing land and creating a place where Black families and businesses could grow. He opened one of the area’s first Black-owned businesses, provided housing, and helped finance other Black entrepreneurs, laying the foundation for what became known as Black Wall Street. His vision helped build one of the most successful and self-sustaining Black business communities in the United States. Gurley’s legacy is rooted in creating economic opportunity, ownership, and community wealth during a time of extreme racial discrimination. • 100% combed and ring-spun cotton (Heather colors contain polyester) • Fabric weight: 4.2 oz./yd.² (142 g/m²) • Pre-shrunk fabric • Side-seamed construction • Shoulder-to-shoulder taping • Blank product sourced from Nicaragua, Mexico, Honduras, or the US Disclaimer: The fabric is slightly sheer and may appear see-through, especially in lighter colors or under certain lighting conditions.
