The Greenwood District in Tulsa, Oklahoma, was a thriving, prosperous Black American community in the early 20th century known as "Black Wall Street". Founded in 1906, it was a self-sustaining hub of hotels, cafes, and businesses before being destroyed by a white mob in the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre.
